It's just struck me that it's been about a week since I last posted. Oh God, how insanely time flies by. The week's rushed by in a blur, mostly hazed by property searches. Especially bad for anal people like myself who have about 32048032 different checkboxes to tick off (I mean, I must love where I stay, right?). Apologies for not replying or dropping by your sites, will visit as soon as the madness blows over-- fingers crossed that I am not delusional it will; and thank you for stopping by. In the meantime England has grown so cold, I've taken out all my coats, and am threatening to wear the (faux) fur gorgeous beauties. This hauntingly beautiful gold brocade one is no exception. Hailing from tropical Singapore means I am sometimes lost at what to wear underneath my coats-- a lesson I am still learning. Last fall/winter I cheated by wearing summer clothes beneath, because let's face it, they're way easier to wash. And sometimes I even think it is anticlimactic to wear a stunning coat and have relatively-unstunning clothes beneath. Something doesn't quite feel right. Anyhows, D got me this beautiful Gemma Eve collar when we were at the market last week. I think we both spotted it at the same time and were grinning madly at what we call 'decorations'. Gemma Eve makes one-offs, including stunning cuffs and lace dresses and what-nots, and this piece was made from satin in an Oriental print. When I was younger, I'd stare for hours at the fabrics used for wrapping antique boxes that belong to my uncle, and think they'd be gorgeous as obi belts or dresses-- and many years later, voila, I magically have a collar made from that! And a rufflicious one at that, given my love for ruffles. Anyhows, this collar looks gorgeous under a coat, imparting a sense of dramatism on the entire ensemble. Worn with a simple black low-cut dress beneath, it still gives that same sense of grandeur after the coat has been removed. These are quick shots taken with PhotoBooth, and some meticulously-applied makeup for the wicked feel with what we call the Demonness Lipstique-- MAC lipstick in Cyber, topped up with MAC lipglass in Boldheart. And now the bed beckons since I'll have to awake at 530am to view houses by the sea. . A long day beckons ahead, and fingers crossed it will be successful.

ReplyDeleteLove this look! Thanks for the visit and comment! I went out to dinner a few nights ago and I wore the Pretty Angel Fashion top. I paired it with some skinny jeans and heels because it was more of a dressy-casual affair. I thought it looked really nice! With details and embellishments like the ones on the top, you really have to let it take center stage :)
